Joel Embiid
So far, Joel has been his typical dominant self, and really what more would you expect?
Throughout the preseason action, Joel is still reminding us why he’s one of the most overpowering big men in the league. He’s continuing to assert his dominance down low and bully his way into the paint, something Brett Brown wants to see more of.
When in the paint, he’s ducking under defenders for lay-ins and earning opportunities at the charity stripe, which is a sight we should expect to see a lot of this season. His overall game in the post looks a lot cleaner than it did last year, with that fadeaway 15-footer still looking smooth as silk.
Cutting down on unnecessary turnovers is going to be a point of emphasis this year. Teams are going to be double-teaming Joel more than ever, so his ball movement out of the post will be key, and it’s been pretty solid so far, whether it’s kicking it back out to the perimeter or finding guys cutting to the hole.
So yeah, MVP might not be that out of reach for one Joel Hans Embiid.
