Where do the Philadelphia 76ers rank among the NBA’s best teams after three weeks?

Despite some tough early losses, the Philadelphia 76ers are beginning to look like an Eastern Conference contender. The Raptors and Celtics are still a tier above, but Joel Embiid’s rapid development might push the Sixers closer than some fans expected.

Elsewhere in the NBA, Stephen Curry is doing MVP things, Jimmy Butler is still on the Timberwolves, the Rockets need to trade for Jimmy Butler, and the Wizards need to blow it up. That, and much, much more.

After three weeks, the standings are beginning to take shape. Plenty will change over the next 70+ games (obviously), but the contenders are becoming evident. Likewise, those toward the bottom are beginning to fall off (except the Kings, who should still end up toward the bottom, but who knows).

Here are your Week 3 Power Rankings.

30. team. 156. The Cavaliers are in a free fall, firing head coach Tyronn Lue and watching Kevin Love undergo foot surgery. The focus is now on cultivating young talent, with Larry Drew (for the time being) patrolling the sidelines.
There’s a good chance J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver are traded soon. Love might join them by the deadline, as there’s no use for a star-caliber talent on the roster. It’s time to rebuild and Love could help a contender elsewhere.

Was firing Lue, a players-friendly coach, six games into the season a good move? Probably not, but we’ll see where this tank takes them. Zion Williamson would be an apt heir to LeBron James’ thrown, perhaps.
. 1-8. Previous: . Cleveland Cavaliers
