For the time being, Johnson is the Wildcats’ best prospect in what some consider to be a down recruiting year. That doesn’t take away from their litany of NBA talent or No. 2 ranking the AP Polls, of course.
At 6-foot-5, Johnson is an energetic perimeter defender whose 6-foot-9 wingspan affords him the versatility to defend three positions. He’s aggressive on the ball and can make plays off it, bursting into passing lanes and creating transition opportunities.
On the other end, Johnson needs to become a more consistent three-point shooter. He’s already an aggressive slasher who can finish through contract and make plays off the bounce, it’s just a matter of consistently hitting shots from deep. His mechanics aren’t bad.
