The Washington Wizards are on the verge of blowing it up, and the Philadelphia 76ers can take advantage.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment through five weeks has been the Washington Wizards’ performance. Despite two All-Star guards, Scott Brooks‘ team is just 5-11, struggling to keep pace with a surprisingly competitive Eastern Conference.
With tempers flaring, the Wizards are reportedly willing to break up the core. The front office has expressed a “willingness” to move John Wall, Bradley Beal and others, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Wall also cursed out Coach Brooks in a recent practice.
The end of the Wall-Beal era feels closer than ever, and the Philadelphia 76ers should get in on the action. If the Wizards are blowing it up, the Sixers should put themselves firmly in the mix — whether it be complementary talent or, potentially, another star.
Sitting at 12-7, the Sixers have won three straight games with Jimmy Butler on board. Boasting arguably the most talented trio outside Golden State, the Sixers are trending toward the Eastern Conference elites. Making another trade could boost their standing even more.
Washington might look for suitors outside the division, but it can’t hurt to ask. Here are some trades the Sixers should, at the very least, put up for discussion.
