Demetrius Jackson — His attitude

By all accounts, Demetrius Jackson‘s attitude is something coaches appreciate. It’s why he’s still with the Sixers, despite struggling to produce at the NBA level. He continues to grind on a two-way contract. As a former five-star recruit, the talent is still there.

Shake Milton — The upside

Shake Milton fell somewhere inside the top 40 on most draft boards. An injury and poor shooting at the combine tanked his stock, though, allowing the Sixers to pounce on him at 56. He’s still paying his dues in the G-League, but Milton fits the Sixers’ current needs almost perfectly.

Justin Patton — Again, the upside

A lesser-known piece in the Jimmy Butler trade, Justin Patton is currently on the sidelines due to his second foot injury since entering the league. If any team can help a 7-footer dealing with foot issues, it’s the Sixers. Patton was the 16th pick under two years ago. He’s an intriguing flier.

Jonah Bolden — His versatility

While Jonah Bolden hasn’t established himself as a viable rotation piece, he profiles as a hyper-versatile big who fits the modern NBA. He can switch on defense, handle in transition and hit the occasional three-pointer. The Sixers will find a use for him down the road.

Zhaire Smith — His athleticism

The Markelle Fultz story continues to overshadow the almost-as-weird Zhaire Smith story. He might not return until next season after complications related to a food allergy, causing him to lose 20 pounds (!) and setting back his rehab. When he’s healthy, though, Zhaire and gravity aren’t on speaking terms.
