Markelle Fultz — The special moments

The Markelle Fultz saga pushes onward, with a recent report from Derek Bodner, Shams Charania and The Athletic shifting more blame onto Fultz and his agent. It’s obvious that A) he’s a 20-year-old going through difficult times and B) his handling of the injury has been less than ideal.

With the situation becoming muddier and muddier, it’s important to remember Fultz’s talent and upside. While it feels unlikely, there’s still a chance the shoulder (and wrist?) issue eventually subsides. He’s still a gifted athlete and playmaker.

Throughout his journey, Fultz has given fans some special moments. You can point to his re-debut against Denver last season, when Fultz officially returned to the rotation. You can also point to the season finale against Milwaukee, when Fultz became the youngest player to ever record a triple-double.

This season, Fultz’s first three-pointers — against Orlando in the preseason and against Chicago in the regular season — generated raucous applause from the home crowd. Fultz chants, mocking the Vikings’ famous ‘Skol’ slogan, rang throughout the Wells Fargo Center. There have been some great moments.
