The Jazz will certainly improve, but their early struggles have sparked valid concerns about the current roster construction. Putting more versatile pieces around Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert should be priority No. 1, and De’Andre Hunter fits the bill.
After thriving in a sixth man role last season, Hunter is taking it up a level in the Cavaliers’ starting lineup. He’s averaging 16.8 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from deep, giving Virginia a go-to weapon who can score at every level.
In addition to his offensive growth, Hunter can aptly defend four or five positions against some matchups. He’s the perfect four or small-ball five in the modern NBA, and would give Utah excellent value in the top 10.
