The Rockets are settled in the backcourt with Chris Paul and James Harden. Clint Capela isn’t leaving anytime soon. That means adding complementary pieces on the wing should top Daryl Morey’s priorities list.
Jarrett Culver fits the bill, averaging 18.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in an expanded role this season. He’s also shooting 47.1 percent on 3.4 attempts from deep, proving consistently efficient despite unconventional mechanics.
He’s the ideal two-way wing for the Rockets’ system, hitting spot-up jumpers and attacking closeouts with success. He can also defend multiple positions, giving him the potential to contribute right away at the next level. Houston probably won’t end up in the lottery, though.
