Following another impressive tournament run from Syracuse, Tyus Battle received some first-round discussion in 2018. He eventually returned for his junior season, though, primed to take on another featured scoring role for the Orange.
After watching his three-point percentage dip last season, Battle is shooting an even lower 28.6 percent through five games. It’s obviously a small sample size, but consistently hitting from the perimeter will go a long way in establishing Battle’s draft stock.
With defensive versatility and the ability to generate buckets at all three levels, Battle fits what teams are looking for late in the first round. The Thunder need more complementary pieces next to Russell Westbrook and Paul George, which Battle can feasibly provide.
