The Philadelphia 76ers can no longer trade for Kyle Korver. Who else can they target?

Despite rumored interest throughout the summer, the Philadelphia 76ers and Kyle Korver won’t renew their relationship in 2018. Cleveland shipped the veteran sharpshooter to Utah, removing an obvious trade candidate from the Sixers’ shortlist.

The Sixers are 6-2 since acquiring Jimmy Butler, but the margin for error has been slim. Aside from the Knicks game on Wednesday, there haven’t been any comfortable victories. Butler has bailed the Sixers out twice with a pair of game-winning shots in that span.

Depth is the primary issue, with the second unit losing considerable firepower after J.J. Redick‘s move to the starting five. Markelle Fultz‘s struggles and recent absence haven’t helped, leaving the Sixers with T.J. McConnell, Landry ShametFurkan Korkmaz and Mike Muscala as the main bench pieces.

In a competitive Eastern Conference, that bench probably doesn’t cut it. The Sixers are a move or two away from competing with Toronto and Boston, who’s bound to turn it around at some point.

Elton Brand will likely target the buyout market, but the Sixers can also make moves on the trade market. Korver wasn’t the only quality reserve within a reasonable price range.
