T-1. Meek Mill

You knew it was coming. Meek Mill has been in the national spotlight in recent months for his new album and his recent release from prison. The North Philly native has had a tumultuous rap career.

Meek Mill will forever be synonymous with Philadelphia for his Eagles’ Super Bowl Anthem, “Dreams and Nightmares”. The song was released in 2012, but it surged when the Eagles began playing it in their locker room, and most notably during their Super Bowl entrance. The infamous shirtless dancing of Joel Embiid just before the reveal of his torn meniscus was at a Meek Mill concert. It’s safe to say Meek knows how to get people going in the 215 area.

Beyond his musical career and efforts to reform social justice, Meek Mill was going to Sixers games during their lowest points. Meek Mill, and then girlfriend Nicki Minaj, were rolling up to games during the depths of the Process. Meek was there when the team was only winning 10 games. The team went to the playoffs in 2018, and he went to every game he could.

When you think of Philly musicians, Meek Mill automatically comes to mind. His new album cover has Eagles-colored confetti on it. He’s at every Sixers game he can be at. He is Philly through and through.

You don’t have to like his music, but you’ll have a tougher time finding a bigger celebrity and more authentic fan than Meek Mill.

Who else did a flip after a win!?!?
