Darius Garland will miss the season with a torn meniscus, potentially limiting his college career to five games. Given his track record and success prior to Vanderbilt, though, a solid medical would likely result in lottery consideration.

An exceptionally crafty scorer, Garland has the ideal skill package for a lead guard. He’s an advanced ball handler with pull-up range out to the three-point line, as well as some nice touch in the painted area. He naturally thrives in the pick-and-roll, which is a staple in most NBA offenses.

Physical tools will limit Garland’s upside, but he’s also a high-I.Q. player who, given his skill set, should fit nicely at the next level. He competes on defense, is a willing passer, and has the talent to overcome his thin 6-foot-2 frame.
