Tyler Herro has carved out a starting role in the loaded Kentucky backcourt, providing value with his perimeter shooting and secondary playmaking. While defense is an issue, Herro’s ability to work off the ball and hit outside shots will serve him well at the next level.
At 18, Herro already shows good off-ball instincts, making savvy cuts to the rim and relocating for open shots on the perimeter. With NBA polish, he has potential to fill that Landry Shamet/J.J. Redick role, in some capacity.
In addition to his spot-up proficiency, Herro can attack closeouts, finish at the rim and make smart passes on the move. He has all the tools needed to become a strong complementary piece in the NBA. Expect his 31.6 percent three-point clip to improve.
