The Philadelphia 76ers’ four-game win streak ended on the road against the first-place Toronto Raptors.
The Toronto Raptors defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night by a score of 113-102. The Sixers kept it very close for most of the game but had trouble stopping the Raptors offense late in the game.
Kawhi Leonard was just dominant tonight, scoring 36 points and only missing one three-pointer in six tries. Even a great defender like Jimmy Butler could not contain Leonard, so we will see how Coach Brett Brown game plans for the next game against Leonard and his Raptors. Toronto has a very balanced team and arguably one of the deepest bench units in the NBA.
A few of the 76ers players played well tonight but overall it wasn’t one of the teams best performances this season. Coach Brown needs to make it a priority to get Joel Embiid looks in the post early on in games. Let’s take a look at some player grades for a few players on the Sixers.
The team will have a chance at revenge, when the Toronto Raptors travel to Philadelphia to play the Sixers on Dec. 22. They do have the best home record in the league (13-1), so we have have to wait and see if their home crowd can boast them past the Raptors.
Philadelphia moves to 8-3 after acquiring Jimmy Butler in a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The team has played great after adding him, but their depth is still a question after getting rid of two big contributors they had in Robert Covington and Dario Saric.
The Sixers have two games coming up against the Detroit Pistons in the upcoming days. First they travel to Little Caesars Area on Friday night and then the Pistons travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Monday night. The 76ers will look to get two wins in the coming days against a another Eastern Conference team near them in the standings.
