3. Jimmy Butler
November Stats: GP 9| MINS 32.8| FG% 49.6| 3P% 52.0| FT% 86.1| TRB 4.9| AST 3.0| STL 2.2| BKL 0.6| PF 2.0| TOV 1.8| PTS 17.8
For anyone concerned about Butler’s scoring numbers being down compared to his last couple seasons when he was on the Timberwolves, don’t be. He was a much more efficient scorer since he arrived in Philly during November. The Sixers don’t need him to be the top scorer, but they do need him to close games, which he did twice during the previous month. Butler’s numbers should go up as the season continues and he becomes more comfortable with his new team.
2. Ben Simmons

The Sixers oversized point guard has benefited from the acquisition of Butler. Simmons has been more focused on both sides of the floor, thanks to Butler pushing the second year phenom. His dominance was evident getting two out of five possible player of the week awards for the month of November. The new aggressiveness is a positive for sure and hopefully it translates to him taking more mid-range to outside shots as the season progresses. Simmons had nine double-doubles for November as well.
1. Joel Embiid
November Stats: GP 16| MINS 33.8| FG% 47.0| 3P% 31.3| FT% 78.0| TRB 14.2| AST 3.3| STL 0.6| BKL 1.9| PF 3.4| TOV 3.4| PTS 27.8
To say that Joel Embiid isn’t a MVP candidate thus far this season would be foolish. He was an absolute monster in November. He had a at least a double-double in 15 out of 16 games and had his first career triple-double as well. Also, Embiid garnered three player of the week awards. As long as Embiid plays at this level, the Sixers are going to continue being contenders in the Eastern Conference.
There’s several takeaways from the month of November. Embiid has put himself into the MVP conversation, Butler has closed games like he was brought in to do and several players have benefited from the acquisition of Butler, such as Simmons, Redick and Korkmaz.
