The Philadelphia 76ers rookies are starting to get into the grind of the regular season and positive news regarding the team’s lone rookie big man.
Now that the NBA season is in full force, all of the healthy rookies for the Philadelphia 76ers are seeing game action on a regular basis. Whether it’s through in the NBA or G-League, the team’s rookies are now experiencing the grind of the professional basketball season and for the most part they are performing well, but not quite as well as they did in the last rookie report.

Sadly, there’s been no recent updates regarding the rehabilitation of Zhaire Smith. However as the season continues, it’s become clear that the Sixers second unit needs more defensive oriented players. Smith can help solidify the bench’s perimeter defense whenever he makes his Sixers debut.

There was no “wow” factor in regards to Landry Shamet‘s play this past week. He made 6-13 shots from the 3-point line in the three games he played in. He continues to be a good 3-point shooter, but it would be nice if he can start making impacts in other areas of the game, though it may be to much to ask of the rookie guard.

Jonah Bolden finally started playing in games with the Sixers and Delaware Blue Coats again. His first game back with Delaware was showed that he had rust. He had a poor night shooting against the Oklahoma City Blue, with only 10 points and two rebounds. His second game with Delaware, he bounced back with a 19 point and nine rebound performance against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
He also played a game with the 76ers prior to joining Delaware, but only got two minutes of playing time and failed to make an impact. After playing with the Blue Coats for a few games, it’s been reported that the 76ers have called up Bolden who will be available for NBA games again. Unless there is injury or a blowout, it’s unlikely Bolden will get playing time with the 76ers.

It was good that Shake Milton got playing time with both Philly and Delaware franchises, but it surely wasn’t his best week. He had 22 points in the only game he played with the Blue Coats against the Greensboro Swarm, but did so on 9-26 shooting. In the two games he played with the Sixers this past week, he played a total of eight minutes with zero points on one 3-point attempt with two assists and two fouls.
Milton couldn’t make more of his NBA minutes and struggled to shoot in the G-League. Don’t expect the rookie to continue the poor shooting with the Blue Coats and hopefully he can make a bigger impact next time he plays with the 76ers.
