Darius Garland will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury, but there’s optimism the long-term implications are minimal. That should keep him from dropping much further than this, especially with Orlando needing point guard depth.

While not a top-shelf athlete, Garland boasts an excellent first step with crafty handles and a knack for creating off the bounce. Pre-injury, he was the near-consensus top point guard in the class. Morant has given him solid competition, but Garland remains an intriguing offensive talent.

The Magic’s current point guard rotation boils down to DJ Augustin and Jerian Grant, neither of whom inspire much confidence. Garland could step in and play big minutes right away, giving Orlando’s core some much-needed perimeter talent alongside Mo Bamba, Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac.
