The Thunder currently possess the NBA’s best defense. Jaylen Hoard can add to it, giving OKC another versatile 6-foot-8 body who can guard either forward spot. While not an elite shooter, Hoard’s offensive upside makes him worth the first-round hype.

A shifty face-up scorer, Hoard has several intriguing tools to worth with. Becoming a more consistent shooter will be important, but Hoard can already attack mismatches, handle in transition and make high-level passes for his position.

OKC has some solid pieces in the frontcourt, with Jerami Grant currently locking down the four spot. Hoard presents more of a long-term project, though, and OKC can afford to take its time. He’s the best prospect on the board.
