The Suns need another guard to pair with Devin Booker in the backcourt. Kevin Porter Jr. isn’t a natural point guard, but he’s another ball handler who can help shoulder the offensive burden alongside Booker and Deandre Ayton.
To this point, Porter is the biggest riser in the 2019 class. A relatively unheralded rookie, Porter didn’t need much time to establish himself in the top-five conversation. He’s an electric live-ball scorer, using shifty handles to create space and hit shots at all three levels.
In a draft that lacks high-end talent, a polished offensive threat like Porter will draw serious interest. There’s serious upside, with room to develop as both a facilitator and defender in time. He would fit the Suns’ core nicely.
