The Knicks need talent across the board, but Keldon Johnson provides an excellent complement to returning star Kristaps Porzingis. An aggressive slasher and high-end defender, Johnson is primed to make an immediate impact.

Shooting was among Johnson’s biggest question marks coming into the season. He’s currently shooting 43.8 percent on 3.2 three-point attempts per game, which should peak the interest of NBA teams. He’s rounding into quite the 3-and-D prospect.

New York currently boasts one of the NBA’s worst defenses. Porzingis will add some rim protection, but the overarching problems won’t be solved. They need more defensive personnel, and Johnson fits the mold.
