Demetrius Jackson: A new team
G-Leauge production hasn’t been an issue for Demetrius Jackson, a former five-star recruit and second-round pick. There are questions about his next step, though, and it’s tough to picture him leveling up with the Sixers. It might be best for both sides to part ways.
The Sixers have Ben Simmons, T.J. McConnell and eventually Markelle Fultz at point guard. There isn’t much room for Jackson to earn a spot on the NBA roster, whereas a 3-and-D wing — perhaps Haywood Highsmith — could provide legitimate value.
On the other hand, Jackson can relocate to a franchise with less point guard depth. The Suns, Bulls, Hawks, etc. are all teams that might have more use for Jackson. He might get actual minutes on a rebuilding team. That isn’t happening in Philadelphia.
