Justin Patton: A clean bill of health
Since getting drafted 16th overall in 2017, Justin Patton has dealt with two broken foots and appeared in just one NBA game. He just hasn’t been healthy, overshadowing the very real NBA potential he showed in college.
At 7-foot-1, Patton has excellent size and athleticism, which he puts to good use on defense. He can also hit the occasional spot-up three, flashing versatility scouts hoped he would build on at the next level. He has all the tools to become a useful backup center, something the Sixers presently need.
During his lone season at Creighton, Patton averaged 20.5 points and 2.3 blocks per 40 minutes, shooting 68.3 percent and hitting 8-of-15 three-point attempts. All it takes is one look at his highlight reel to see the upside. He just needs to get on the floor.
