Jimmy Butler
By Ryan Wohl
With the new year coming up, fans need to see Jimmy Butler being more aggressive on the offensive end and call for the ball more. It seems that head coach Brett Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers still haven’t found a way to maximize Butler and Joel Embiids offensive potential when on the floor together.
Butler it seems is trying to fit in to the teams system and doesn’t want to come off as a bad teammate which is fine, but he needs to start realizing that he is capable of much more when having the ball on offense. Later on this year and in the playoffs, the Sixers will be in tough situations and will rely on him to bail the team out by helping out Ben Simmons either break the press or get a good look at the basket.
Butler is one of the best two-way players in the NBA and also is one of the best at getting his own shot off when needed too. As seen from his time in Minnesota and Chicago, he is a primary scorer on an NBA team. Jimmy on paper is a perfect fit into this Philadelphia 76ers team and system.
Playing almost half the seasons games so far, it is really frustrating seeing that the team doesn’t feed Butler the ball enough when they have the ball on offense. Since a new year is starting, fans need to see a new side to Jimmy Butlers game, where he calls for the ball more, moves around the three point line and looks to find his shot at all three levels.
