Philadelphia 76ers Rookie Report: Jonah Bolden getting minutes
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown is slowly figuring out how to use his rookies in this week’s edition of the rookie report.
Like usual, this rookie report will cover all the weekly updates going on with the Philadelphia 76ers first year players. It should be noted that now that team is in mid-season form, the rookies are starting to get more defined roles and some may get more playing time with the Sixers than others moving forward barring trade or injury.

No updates on the Zhaire Smith front for this past week. Fans are at a state of just waiting and imagining what he could bring to the Sixers whenever he is ready to make his professional debut. One thing is for certain, Smith should be able to bring a defensive spark to the 76ers second unit’s perimeter rotation immediately.

One surprising aspect of this past week is that Landry Shamet is still experience a shooting slump like in the previous rookie report. In the past three games, the rookie has gone a combined 2-11 from 3-point land. Hopefully, he can shake off this funk soon or else he might be in danger of losing minutes.

Jonah Bolden has appeared as part of the solution for the Sixers front court depth issue. The big man has played well on defense and hasn’t been a liability on offense in recent games. He even drew a start against the Phoenix Suns with both Jimmy Butler and Wilson Chandler out with illness.
His rebounding and defensive versatility have been a welcomed addition coming off the bench. If he keeps up this play, there’s a good chance he becomes a permanent part of Brown’s rotation moving forward this season.

It seems that for the time being, Shake Milton will be developing with the Delaware Blue Coats. Which is fine he has great potential, but with Shamet and Furkan Korkmaz getting the backup wing minutes off the bench, Delaware is the best place for him to hone his skills. He recently just scored a career high 36 points with the Blue Coats.
