The best game of the month for stretch big man Mike Muscala came when Joel Embiid was out against the Detroit Pistons. The big man had some late game defensive stops that helped lead to a Sixers victory and he also finished with 18 points as well. The big man has played the majority of the month at the center spot due to the decreased role of Amir Johnson. Overall the big man has played solid at the spot, although he’s sometime a defensive liability.
5. Wilson Chandler

The combo forward had settled into his role as the starting power forward during December. He had his best game of the month against the Boston Celtics on Christmas day with 15 points. Still while Chandler has been good defensively, his offense has much to be desired. It appears that age might be catching up with the veteran, but he’s still a solid role player at this point.
4. J.J. Redick
December Stats: GP 13| MINS 30.8| FG% 43.2| 3P% 38.8| FT% 87.5| TRB 2.2| AST 2.5| BKL 0.4| STL 0.5| PF 2.2| TOV 1.1| PTS 17.8

There’s one positive that can be taken away from the month of December for J.J. Redick. The veteran’s 3-point shooting is trending in a positive direction. In November, his percentage from downtown was at 33.6 percent and he saw it rise to 38.8 percent in December. The better that Redick is shooting, the easier it will be for the Sixers “Big 3” to score inside. Redick scored 20-plus points in six games during this past month.
