The Sixers need depth on the perimeter, ideally addressing the minutes that currently go to T.J. McConnell (and, until recently, Furkan Korkmaz). Adding cost-controlled assets via the draft is an excellent way to accomplish that goal.
A breakout freshman at Iowa State, Talen Horton-Tucker is somewhat unconventional in his success. He’s short, stout and slyly powerful, using his strong frame to absorb contact, play different angles and get buckets at the rim.
While not an elite shooter, Horton-Tucker has shown the ability to hit triples. He’s also a heady playmaker, giving the Sixers another ancillary playmaker next to Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler (?) moving forward.
