More from The Sixer Sense

Outside of his poor shooting from the 3-point line, Butler had a very good month. He was efficient from inside the arc and free throw line. He also expanded his role as a playmaker for the team and he did so while keeping his turnovers down. If Butler can increase his 3-point shooting to around 35.0 percent, it would do wonders for his and the Sixers offense moving into the postseason.

2. Joel Embiid

February Stats: GP 6| MINS 36.5| FG% 45.5| 3P% 25.0| FT% 87.9| TRB 14.0| AST 2.3| BKL 2.3| STL 0.7| PF 3.7| TOV 3.5| PTS 27.8

Previous ranking: 1st

Let’s be clear, Embiid was performing at his normal dominance level prior to succumbing to a sore left knee after the All-Star Break. The injury had kept the franchise big man out for the rest of February. Due to the fact that he missed almost half the games for the month, it’s hard to award him for being the top player of February. Still, based his on the pure merit of his skills, dropping him any lower in these rankings would be the biggest disservice to the big man.

1. Tobias Harris

February Stats: GP 8| MINS 35.1| FG% 54.2| 3P% 42.0| FT% 82.8| TRB 7.8| AST 2.6| BKL 0.9| STL 0.4| PF 2.4| TOV 1.1| PTS 21.8

Previous ranking: None

Despite being apart of the biggest deal at the trade deadline, Harris was able to fit in with Philly’s starting five almost instantaneously. He can score on all three levels on offense and is a legit floor spacer. He’s the perfect fit next to Simmons, Butler and Embiid. He also became the primary scorer for the Sixers after Embiid went down with injury. Harris is the type of player that could possibly be a big part of Philly winning the Eastern Conference and a championship.

This new roster will need time to gel and get healthy. The Philadelphia 76ers went 6-4 on the month and there’s still needs to be some chemistry issues and rotations that need to be worked out. However, if those issues do get worked out the sky is the limit for this Philly club going into the postseason.
