P.J. Washington has taken a considerable step forward in his sophomore season, emerging as one of the best defensive prospects in the 2019 class. Standing 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, he has the tools to switch between all five positions.
On top of his stout defensive profile, Washington has shown ample growth on offense. He’s shooting 41.9 percent from deep and continues to thrive as a face-up scorer, boasting nice touch in the lane.
There are questions about Washington’s offensive ceiling, but he should fill a complementary role quite nicely. He’s the ideal small-ball four who, through defense, can impact games on a consistent basis. His return to school worked out.
