It was an odd season for Kevin Porter Jr., who battled a suspension and injuries en route to a cloudier draft status than initially thought. Through it all, though, he remains a dynamic shot-creator whose upside should tantalize teams in a relatively thin class.
Porter’s role was limited, averaging just 22.1 minutes and starting four of 21 games. That, combined with poor college spacing, hurt his ability to take advantage of an exciting live-dribble game. He was also prone to bad shots and poor decisions, something he will need to iron out at the next level.
Concerns and all, Porter’s ability to create shots in tight spaces, combined with his physical tools, make him a potential lottery pick. He has some strong sixth-man spark plug vibes, but his ceiling lies much higher.
