After gaining top-five steam before the season, Sekou Doumbouya has disappointed as the top international prospect. Injuries dragged him down, as did inconsistent play. Even so, he still maintains lottery interest.

An elite athlete at 6-foot-9, Doumbouya has a path to becoming the best defender in the 2019 draft. He has five-position potential, boasting quick feet, explosive leaping ability and considerable strength. That all translates to an impressive transition game, to boot.

Improving his all-around skill level remains a focus, as Doumbouya is more raw than his collegiate counterparts. He needs to improve as a shooter, passer and ball-handler. If it all comes together, he’s a special talent.
