After spending last season as the sixth man and missing Virginia’s first-round loss to UMBC, De’Andre Hunter has been an integral part of the Cavaliers’ starting unit as a sophomore. He’s a strong top-10 prospect, providing several valuable attributes on both ends.
Standing 6-foot-8, Hunter gives Virginia a much-needed isolation scorer in the halfcourt, using his smooth face-up game to spearhead the offense. He’s also a 42.2 percent three-point shooter, fitting the stretch four mold.
Hunter, in the same realm as Doumbouya and Washington, stands as one of the draft’s most promising defensive prospects. He has the size and mobility to defend the post or switch on the perimeter.
