A relatively unheralded freshman coming into the season, Talen Horton-Tucker has launched himself onto first-round radars. He’s a unique prospect, standing 6-foot-4 with broad shoulders and an atypical physical profile, but his skill set presents NBA upside.

Using his strength, Horton-Tucker can embrace contact and finish around the rim. He’s not an elite shooter, so it’s his ability to get downhill, finish inside and playmake for others that gives Horton-Tucker intrigue at the next level.

There’s also defensive upside related to Horton-Tucker’s strong frame and long arms, which allow him to switch around the perimeter and guard multiple positions. As long as his 30.8 percent three-point percentage translates (and eventually improves) at the next level, he has a role to fill.
