NBA Draft 2019: Big Board 4.0
Despite an inconsistent season, Luguentz Dort deserves strong consideration in a relatively weak first round. He’s an impressive athlete on the perimeter, standing 6-foot-5 with long arms, a strong frame and ample explosiveness.
While not perfect, Dort flashes serious upside on defense, using his strength to body players one-on-one and using his burst to intercept passing lanes and force turnovers. He has the tools to defend three positions in the NBA.
Dort has been a strong offensive presence for Arizona State, but the freshman wasn’t the most consistent three-point shooter at 30.7 percent. He’s at his best when using his frame to attack and finish through contact at the rim.
