Jarrett Culver, Texas Tech
The Sixers, barring an unexpected (and almost unfeasible) trade, won’t have the opportunity to draft Jarrett Culver. The Texas Tech wing has moved into the top-five on several draft boards, ours included. Even if the Kings pick conveys at No. 1, the Sixers would be foolish to consider anyone not named Zion Williamson.
Culver will almost certainly come off the board in the lottery, providing his future team with a valuable two-way contributor. Given the current trends of NBA basketball, big 3-and-D wings who can create off the dribble are in high demand.
Despite unorthodox mechanics, Culver projects as a fluid and successful three-point shooter in the NBA. He has also improved his shot creation as a sophomore, getting to the rim, finishing with touch, and generating shots for others through his passing.
Listed at 6-foot-5, Culver’s 6-foot-9 wingspan and broad shoulders allow him to play bigger than his size. His ceiling sits below names like R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish, but his floor and clearly translatable skill set will win some teams over.
