The journeyman point guard Ish Smith just finished up yet another season with the Detroit Pistons and is set up to be a free agent this upcoming summer. Before joining the Pistons, Smith was a part of the Sixers organization, not once but on two separate occasions. Smith was one of the more reliable point guards that was apart of the “The Process”.

The first time Smith became a part of the 76ers he was signed as a free agent in Feb. 2015. Philly was in desperate need of a point guard after they had traded then reigning rookie of the year Michael Carter-Williams. Smith stabilized the point guard position the best that he could for the rest of the season.

He provided stability at the point guard position when the Sixers need a stop gap point guard between the MCW era and Ben Simmons era.

The Sixers were in need of a point guard the next season as well, with Kendall Marshall not panning out and T.J. McConnell in his rookie season. Hinkie made a trade for Smith in Dec. 2015 in which the 76ers gave up two future second round picks. Smith had the best stretch of his career during the 50 game stint with the Sixers.

On this All-Time “Process” roster, Smith probably would a be a primary playmaker off the bench. He would be able to defend at an average level and playmake at a high level. With MCW and McConnell ahead of him, he probably wouldn’t get that much playing, but could provide solid play off the bench if needed.

He provided stability at the point guard position when the Sixers needed a stop gap point guard between the MCW era and Ben Simmons era. He’s the only player on this list that had two separate stops with the Sixers during “The Process”.
