After beginning the season as a potential top-10 pick, talent evaluators have cooled off on Keldon Johnson‘s NBA prospects. He’s an average athlete and, despite improvement as a shooter, still lacks a degree of consistency on three-point attempts.
Despite those concerns, the Kentucky freshman still represents a valuable archetype. His shooting is good enough and he’s a hard-working wing defender, boasting the tools needed to make due at the next level. OKC needs more two-way wings who can fit next to Russell Westbrook and Paul George.
OKC isn’t brimming with depth, and what little depth they have consists of very severe limitations. Johnson, while imperfect, presents a well-rounded wing who can plug those holes. He can spot-up, drive, cut and pass at reasonably high levels. There’s a good bit to work with.
