The Celtics triple-down on older prospects while filling a need. Terry Rozier is gone this summer and Kyrie Irving is no guarantee to re-sign, meaning Boston should look to reinforce the point guard spot. Carsen Edwards launched himself into the conversation with a historic NCAA Tournament performance.

While there are natural limitations tied to a 6-foot guard, Edwards is a gifted bucket-getter who can score proficiently at all three levels. He’s a dynamic pull-up shooter, a crafty finisher and someone who projects well in a backup point guard role.

Boston has proven capable of balancing dynamic scorers when right. Chemistry will be an issue to solve next season, but adding three experienced prospects with clear NBA traits is a start when it comes to filling voids and preparing for a potentially violent free agency period.
