NBA Draft 2019: Big Board 5.0
Talen Horton-Tucker is a unique physical specimen. He’s 6-foot-4, but weighs in at 235 points and boasts a wingspan a shade over 7-foot-1. He has the tools to defend four positions on paper. That versatility will doubtlessly intrigue NBA teams.
A strong-bodied guard on offense, Horton-Tucker has unexpected shot creation skills. He’s a herky-jerky ball handler who can generate space and hit pull-up jumpers. Given his strength, though, Horton-Tucker should draw more fouls than he does. His poor free throw shooting isn’t the best sign either.
Horton-Tucker will need to improve his decision-making and become a more consistent downhill scorer/playmaker in the NBA. He will also need to tap into his defensive potential more often, using his tools to interrupt passing lanes, contain bigger players and switch on the perimeter, rather than showing mere flashes.
