There’s no disputing Zion Williamson’s spot atop the 2019 NBA Draft. He’s the consensus No. 1 pick for a reason, and there hasn’t been a compelling argument to the contrary since the college season began. He’s a generational talent and a unique athlete. The Pelicans lucked out.

Williamson is listed at 6-foot-7, 285 pounds. He’ll be the second-heaviest player in the NBA, trailing only Boban Marjanovic. He isn’t overweight either — it’s mostly muscle, offering Zion an unmatched blend of strength and explosiveness. It shows on both ends, whether it’s attacking in transition or playing free safety on defense.

Zion can terrorize defenders in transition or dominate in the halfcourt, using impressive footwork to dissect his way to the rim. In addition to soft touch and elite efficiency, Williamson developed into a solid playmaker at Duke. He can pass on the move and create for others. And he has All-Defense potential in the future.
