A hyper-versatile 7-footer, Nicolas Claxton checks out with a 7-foot-3 wingspan and excellent mobility for his size. He can function in a unique space on offense, pushing the pace in transition with tight handles and smooth dribble moves. He can also pass, cut and drive in the halfcourt.

On defense, Claxton defends the perimeter exceedingly well for someone with his physical tools. Adding strength and retaining lateral quickness is key, but Claxton’s ability to switch onto guards and defend one-on-one is something NBA teams will value.

He even shot 28.1 percent on threes, albeit on limited attempts. There’s room for expansion in that regard. His efficiency wasn’t great in college, but his athleticism, passing upside and defense are all attributes teams should covet. He’s a first-round prospect, for sure.
