NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 6.0
The Blazers need some insurance behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum in the backcourt, as Seth Curry is about to hit free agency. Ty Jerome projects as one of the top shooters in the 2019 class, offering Portland an immediate contributor in the second unit.
At 6-foot-5, Jerome projects as a comboguard of sorts with good positional size. He’s a subpar athlete and will lose some matchups as a result, but his high basketball I.Q. and obvious NBA skills can make up that ground.
In addition to his elite shooting numbers, Jerome is a smart passer who manipulates defenders with clever dribble moves and all-encompassing court vision. He can operate as a secondary playmaker next to Lillard and/or McCollum, where his limited burst is less of an issue.
