The Grizzlies are set on going Best Player Available, which appears to mean Ja Morant at this point. While Memphis has tried to blow smoke and bring R.J. Barrett in for workouts, Morant joining the Griz feels close to inevitable.

His thin frame is a concern, but Morant is an elite-level athlete with passing chops reminiscent of Trae Young in last year’s rookie class. He can get to the rim, shred defenses in the pick-and-roll and set up teammates on the regular.

Memphis will have the option of playing Morant with or behind Mike Conley, who can act as a mentor for the Murray State sophomore. It also opens the door for Memphis to trade Conley, who will still have suitors after a productive 2018-19 campaign.
