The Philadelphia 76ers have a loaded starting five. Where do they rank among the NBA’s top players?
It’s an annual tradition. During the offseason, NBA pundits from every corner of the internet craft rankings for the league’s top players. This summer, I’m giving mine — a glimpse into the Philadelphia 76ers‘ standing in the NBA landscape.
A few housecleaning notes to start: This list, as is the case with every list, is subjective. There’s no definitive measure for each ranking. Disagreements are natural. Everyone has different values and principles when analyzing players. It’s why people get paid to debate sports.
Injuries will factor into these rankings. Until Kristaps Porzingis, Victor Oladipo and Kevin Durant step on the court, there’s a veil of uncertainty that can’t be ignored. A healthy player might get a slight upper hand as a result.
The Sixers are the only team will five players in the top-50. When discussing title odds, that talent level deserves credit. Even if the fit manifests some concerns, Philadelphia has firepower and depth.
Here’s how the dominoes fall.
Honorable mentions: Andre Drummond (DET), Clint Capela (HOU), Robert Covington (MIN), Eric Bledsoe (MIL), Lou Williams (LAC), Brook Lopez (MIL), Montrezl Harrell (LAC), Domantas Sabonis (IND), Paul Millsap (DEN), Jamal Murray (DEN), Jusuf Nurkic (POR), Marc Gasol (TOR), John Collins (ATL), Justise Winslow (MIA), Julius Randle (NYK)
