The Philadelphia 76ers are a top heavy talented team and it could help them send four players to the 2020 NBA All-Star game.
Last season, the Philadelphia 76ers had two All-Stars in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. With the Eastern Conference projected to be weaker and the Sixers young stars expected to take another step in development, its probable that both Embiid and Simmons will return to the All-Star game in 2020. Besides Embiid and Simmons returning to the All-Star game, it’s totally possible that the Sixes could have two more All-Stars alongside the young duo this season.
It’s not impossible for a team to send four players to an All-Star game. The two most recent cases was with the 2015 Atlanta Hawks and the 2017/2018 Golden State Warriors. The Hawks ended with the best record in the Eastern Conference and sent Al Horford, Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap to the All-Star game.
The Warriors had the best record in the Western Conference in 2017 and the second best in 2018. Both seasons they sent Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to the respective All-Star games.

History is on the side of the teams that have a top two records in their respective conference. With the loaded roster that the Sixers have, it’s not impossible for the club to be a top team in the East. Only the Milwaukee Bucks pose a real threat to claim the top spot in the conference.
There’s little reason to doubt that the duo of Simmons and Embiid won’t be named All-Stars again which gives the Sixers two All-Star candidates to begin with. However, Simmons and Embiid aren’t the only All-Star candidates that the franchise has entering the season.
I recently wrote that Tobias Harris is primed to become a first time All-Star this upcoming season. Horford has been in five All-Star games in the past, so he knows what it takes to get there. Both Harris and Horford have three things each that they can do to become worthy of a spot on the All-Star ballot. While it’s more likely that Harris would make the All-Star game then Horford, both have a legit shot of making it this upcoming season.
If the Philadelphia 76ers can have one of the best records in the East and their core performs at the level that they have the potential to then Embiid, Simmons, Harris and Horford could be in the All-Star game.
