There are valid concerns for Tyrese Maxey. He’s 6-foot-3, but fits the mold of a shooting guard. He’s not known for his playmaking chops, but is instead hailed as a bucket-getter. He can, without question, get buckets.

But there’s also room for improvement. Maxey’s base skill set as a dynamic isolation scorer has value. He can get downhill, create space and bomb shots from deep. At the very least, his spark plug potential should intrigue NBA scouts.

If Maxey can grow into a better playmaker at Kentucky, his stock will skyrocket. Maxey in the form of a viable point guard earns top-10 status. Until then, expect his nose for buckets and high motor to earn lottery consideration anyway.
