Henri Drell declared for the 2019 draft before returning overseas. He’s now in the first-round conversation — one of several international prospects slated to catch teams’ eyes next season. Drell has a skill package many talent evaluators can appreciate.

Despite his thin frame, Drell in a long 6-foot-9 forward who can space the floor, create off the bounce and defend in space. Those are three hallmarks of effective NBA fours, which bodes well for Drell’s long-term projection once he’s able to add strength under an NBA conditioning program.

Drell isn’t an elite shooter, but his mechanics are smooth. He’s effective attacking closeouts, dribbling into mid-range pull-ups or using long strides to finish at the rim. His scoring upside, combined with intriguing defensive tools, puts Drell on the map.
