Jaden McDaniels is 6-foot-11, lanky, and can generate buckets with an innate smoothness. Naturally, the Kevin Durant comparisons have been made — an unfair burden for an 18-year-old who, in all likelihood, will never reach KD’s all-time level.

Still, while KD is far-fetched, McDaniels does possess the talent of a top-five draft pick. His size is an obvious boost — fitting into rotations as either a versatile four or a super-sized three. Few players his size are as adept creating off the bounce, using slick hesitations and the length to shoot over the top of most defenders.

In addition to soft touch at every level, McDaniels harbors a great deal of defensive upside. He will need to add muscle — it’s perhaps his most glaring weakness at this stage — but his length, athleticism and instincts are enticing.
