Bringing back an old series — ranking each Philadelphia 76ers starter against his fellow starters.
The Philadelphia 76ers will start the 2019-20 season as prohibitive favorites in the Eastern Conference, flanking the Milwaukee Bucks atop most projected standings. Their starting five — one of the NBA’s most talented groups — is the main reason why.
Last summer, we compared every Sixers starter to others at their position. Ben Simmons ranked sixth among point guards. J.J. Redick ranked 16th among shooting guards. Robert Covington ranked 11th among small forwards. Dario Saric ranked 11th among power forwards. Joel Embiid ranked second among centers.
Oh, how times have changed. The Sixers will trot out a very different starting five next season, and the NBA landscape has shifted quite a bit. It seems only right to bring back the series for 2019-20, ranking every Sixers starter against their peers.
We will start at point guard — Ben Simmons. A unique talent who doesn’t quite fit the typical mold of his position, Simmons established himself as a premier point guard as soon as he stepped on an NBA court. He already has an All-Star to his name and should add more in the near future.
Here are all 30 NBA starting point guards, ranked.
