Small Forward

Starter

This time last year the Philadelphia 76ers started the season with Robert Covington manning the small forward spot and then it was Butler who took over the role. This season they will have Tobias Harris starting at the position and he will be a very important to the team’s offense.

The combo forward had an All-Star caliber season last year playing for both the Sixers and Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 20.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Despite being a combo forward, his more natural position is the power forward spot and could struggle on the defensive end by playing as a small forward.

Primary reserve

Ennis will most likely be slated to get the majority of minutes at the small forward spot. Like stated on the previous page, he’ll be in line for minutes at the shooting guard spot as well. His ability to defend, space the floor and get offensive rebound will be important to the team’s second unit.

Rest of depth

Korkmaz and Thybulle should be in line for minutes at this spot. Despite being undersized at 6-foot-4, Smith could occasion minutes at this position. It’s pretty clear that the Sixers are pretty deep at both wing positions this season.
