3. Tobias Harris

Tobias Harris comes third on this list after having an underwhelming tenure with the Sixers last season. Harris had a reduced role when he joined the Sixers  compared to his time with the Clippers, where he was the number one option. A lot were questioning if he was worth the $180 million dollar extension. But now Harris will have an expanded role with two key players gone, Butler and Redick.

With the departure of Redick, Harris will no longer be looked at as the fourth or fifth scoring option. There is now a big hole in their shooting arsenal, and making Harris the primary shooter should be Brown’s priority. No one on the current roster shoots the ball better than Harris does, and with an expanded role his percentages should go back to what they were in L.A.

Closing is a big question mark for the Sixers going into the season, and Butler was acquired exactly for that reason last year. Embiid has always struggled late in the game, either turning it over or refusing to pass out of a double team. Simmons can’t shoot outside the paint, therefore, that leaves us with Tobias Harris, who is expected to take that expanded role.

Harris is a versatile scorer, and his ability to perform in the clutch is something we haven’t really seen yet. His last shot ever as a Clipper was a game winner with four seconds remaining, so perhaps Butler’s departure will open up that part of his game.

To conclude, this season is a real test for Harris. He is entering his prime at the age of 27, with an expanded role on a championship team. The pressure is on for Tobias Harris, and this year he’ll try to prove people he’s worth that massive extension he signed in the summer.
